Cycle Carriers:
For collection from our Tonbridge location, at TN9 1QF.
Towbar Cycle Carriers
-
As pictured above these provide a platform to support the bikes, usually have integrated lights, and while bulky are easier to load bikes on/off.
-
These provide ‘arms’ that the bikes hang from by their cross-bars, adapters are available for ladies/kids bikes but are often not required.
Roof Bar Cycle Carriers
-
As shown above, the tradional and still most common type. Which hold the frame of the bike between pedals and handlebars, as well as buckle fastening through the wheels.
-
The second most popular type, whereby the front wheel is removed and the carrier clamps the front axle or forks. This reduces the height and therefore wind drag.
-
Due to the popularity of carbon frames, some carriers clamp the front wheel. For users who prefer not to clamp their frame, or remove their front wheel.
Rear-Door Cycle Carriers
-
The intention with these is to keep the bikes above the vehicle’s number plate and lights to avoid obscuring them.
-
These are easier to load then high level platform racks, but because they obscure the number plate and/or lights on the vehicle you are legally required to display a lightboard (with a number plate) safety reasons, and this requires a towing elelctrics socket to plug the lightboard into..
Hinged tow bar that swings away from the back of the van to allow rear door access, with a bike rack or box still attached. Only available for common motorhome models (e.g. Ducato, Boxer, Jumper & Movano).
Special Order only, normal lead time 3-5 days, minimum 50% deposit required.
